Jun 13, 2019  I am on a mac and recently I can't open any excel files at all. I get a window asking me to find the file and 'grant access'. Once that is done I get an alert 'Excel cannot open the filebecause the file format or file extension is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file'.
